Digital Volunteer Opportunities

“Story project” Interview

(2-6 hours)

Help spread autism awareness by participating in the NOAAH Story Project. Volunteers will interview autistic individuals, family members, friends, caregivers, educators, staff, and other community members to learn about their experiences, perspectives, and advice. These stories will be used to educate others, promote understanding, and highlight the diverse experiences within the autism community.

  • Interviewees must sign the social media consent form 
  • Video: 1- 3 minutes (4- 6 hours)
  • Short Essay: (2-3 hours)
  • We will provide a list of standard questions to ask; then you must create some of your own

Design Awareness Posters

(2-4 hours)

Create informative and visually engaging autism awareness posters that promote understanding, acceptance, and advocacy. Posters may include graphics, infographics, statistics, facts, resources, or information about NOAAH and its mission. Volunteers are encouraged to display or distribute their posters within the community to help educate others and increase awareness.

  • Designing poster- 2 hours
  • Distributing posters in the community- 2 hours added
  • Must be about autism awareness and include NOAAH’s logo and website/social information

Making an educational video

(2-10 hours)

Research a topic related to autism awareness, acceptance, or support and create an engaging educational video to inform others. Volunteers can use presentations, animations, interviews, or creative storytelling to share accurate information, promote understanding, and help reduce misconceptions about autism. Videos should be informative, respectful, and designed for a general audience.

  • 5+ minute video = 6-10 hours
  • Tik Tok/ Instagram Reel= 2-4 hours
  • Can be a Youtube, TikTok, or Instagram Reel relating to Autism Awareness
  • Has to be at least a minute long, but no more than 10 minutes (for a YouTube video)
  • The longer and more edited and professional the video is, the more hours are granted

Writing a blog article

(1-7 hours)

Research and write an informative blog article about an autism-related topic to help educate, raise awareness, and promote understanding within the community. Articles may explore topics such as autism awareness, neurodiversity, inclusion, advocacy, communication differences, sensory experiences, or support resources. The goal is to provide accurate, engaging, and accessible information that helps readers better understand and support autistic individuals.

  • Short awareness article (500-800 words)- 1-2 hours
  • Standard educational article (800-1500 words)- 3-4 hours
  • In-depth resource article (1500-2500 words)- 4-7 hours
  • Must be appropriate and formatted in MLA or APA
  • Citations Required
